The Success Is No Accident - 899 Words

Clint Dempsey once said,â€Å"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do†(motivationalquote.com 5 October 2015). Recently, I was told that I had a great opportunity and for a while I lost the love of the game due to my focus towards the sport. I thought of it more as a job, and less as a pleasure. I later read a novel called Siddhartha that helped me realize that it is not in my hands and that I will just have to enjoy my journey. I learned that to accomplish my ultimate goal of playing college soccer I will have to wait, think, and fast. I will have to obtain the skill of waiting to accomplish my goal. I will have to wait until the coach is ready to look into me and my credentials and is willing to invite for an official visit. At that point, I will get to see the campus and speak with the coach, which will help me narrow my options for college. I will have to wait for the coach to be fully committed to my skills and me. While the coach evaluates my potential as a college player, I must have patience because it is out of my hands. My patience could potentially be tested at times, but I will need to have faith. I will have faith by trusting in the Lord and that my future is in his hands. I might have to wait many days, months, and hopefully not to many years to achieve the goal I have been working towards since the age of six.
